Spring/Summer Lipsticks

Hey Everyone!! its been a while since my last blog post, mainly due to starting up my YouTube channel , seen as its nearly the summer, which I'm so excited about (does a little dance), I decided to do a quick Spring/Summer Lipstick collection. These lipsticks will be the main colours I will use during the summer.

Kardashian Beauty En-Joystick

The first lipstick is the Kardashian en-joystick in the shade Sea Coral. I have this lipstick a little while now, and I love it! It is a very moisture filled lipstick which is a good thing for the summer as the sun can dry out your lips! The only downside to this lipstick, if you have cracked lips it will cake and it doesn't look nice, this happened me when i first got it so I used the Lush lip scrub to help and the lipstick then went on much better. This lipstick cost just under €14.00, which is expensive for a lipstick but it is honestly worth it.

Kardashian Khroma Beauty Joystick

The next lipstick is another kardashian beauty Joystick in the shade Shocking Pink. I recently went outside my comfort zone with lipsticks, I usually wear pale pinks nothing mad, but one day I decided to wear my personality and went and bought bold bright colours. I love these crazy colours now, I need more! Again this lipstick is just under €14.00.

Revlon ColourBurst Matte Balm

The Revlon matte balm in the shade 245 Audacious is another favourite for this summer. This shade is a bright Orange which again is so unusual for me, but I actually love it! Like the Kardashain Joystick if you have cracked lips this lipstick will cake and trust me its not attractive :( When I first bought this lip balm I couldn't wear it because of my chapped lips, but using a lip scrub or a lip repair balm you should be good to go! One thing I love about this lip balm is the minty scent it smells really good. This lip balm cost €10.99, which is quite reasonable for this product.

Christian Dior Diorific Collection

My last lipstick for Spring/Summer is the Diorific Lipstick in the shade 045 Royale, I bought this lipstick a while ago and it is one of my favourite Shades. Unlike the other lipsticks this doesn't have a lot of moisture, but it has a strong pigment and it lasts all day. This lipstick is more expensive at €36.00.

 

Alternative

An alternative to the Diorific lipstick would be the No.7 Moisture Drench in the shade Waterlily. This lipstick shade is almost the exact same as the Diorfic Royale but is half the price! The No.7 lipstick costs €12.75, but If you shop in  Boots, sometimes (on at the moment) they do No.7 vouchers when you spend over a certain amount in the store, these vouchers allow you to get €6.50 of skin care and €4.00 off make up, I take full advantage of these vouchers as I can buy all my skin care products for little or nothing.

'Do They Really Work' - Oriflame Mascara

It is that time again for a product review and today I decided to do a review on two Oriflame mascaras I bought recently, well its more of a 'does it really work' kind of review. I bought these two mascaras so I could see if they actually do as they say in the catalogue.

Hyper Stretch XL

The Hyper Stretch XL mascara contains 4mm fibres and Pro-Long Complex. In the catalogue it says this mascara gives stunning volume and false effect to the lashes. The Pro-Long Complex is said to complement the natural growth cycle of lashes by stimulating genes linked to keratin production, hair growth, stability and promotes length, fullness and strength.
Although I have only tried this product for a short period I haven't been able to see any growth yet, but I will continue to use the mascara to see if it does promote growth.

The Brush

I personally dislike these types of mascara brushes but I was pleasantly surprised by this one! Unlike other mascaras, this brush came out with a small amount of product on it and wasn't saturated or messy looking. When applying to my lashes it did take a few strokes to get a good bit of the product onto them but it didn't clump like others I have tried.

 Application

 

I already have quite long lashes but after applying the mascara I can definitely see the difference, although I would of loved for them to look thicker. This was my lashes after 3 coats of the mascara, maybe with a few more coast I might of got the volume/thickness I was looking for. When looking at my lashes done using The One Volume blast mascara I cant see much of a difference in regards the added fibre to me it just looks like my own lashes so I'm unsure if the fibres are really adding length to my already long lashes, But I have to say this product definitely impressed me. This mascara costs €11.49 in the catalogue which is reasonable for this product. Anyone with short lashes would benefit a lot from this mascara as it doesn't leave a mess and you can apply several coats without getting that clumpy mascara look.

All in all I think it is safe to say this product does work, well on the lengthening, but I still have to see if it helps with growth.

The One Volume Blast

The One Volume Blast Mascara contains a rich creamy formulation and bold boost wax system to deliver ultra volume all the time. When I seen this mascara I was so intrigued by the whole Wax Boost System and was curious to know if it would be any different to regular mascaras, so I bought it to test it out.

The Brush

This brush is a first for me, iv never had a brush that was just one size, any mascara iv tried would go from thin to wide. The rubber like brushes are definitely my favourite I just feel that they brush the lashes a lot better than the regular brushes. In the catalogue it says 'Lash-grabbing brush catches every lash for super separation and bombastic volume' , this excited me as I love volume lashes because I already have the length but not the volume/thickness.

Application

I cant believe how long my lashes are with this mascara! I have to say I was so happy with this result. The brush done exactly as it said it would it by catching each lash for super separation. I will definitely be using this mascara in the future and I recommend it to anyone looking for a decent mascara. This one cost €12.45 which is slightly expensive but is definitely worth it as you can see from the picture.

Out of the two mascaras my favourite would have to be The One Volume Blast, it really did what it said it would and I just love the look it gave my lashes.

April Favourites

Well hello again! It has been a while since my last post and I am so sorry, but thank you for all staying with me :) College is now finished and I will have loads of time to do new posts and videos!
Its that time of the month again for Monthly favourites, so here is my April favourites and un-favourites!

Favourites

M.A.C Lipstick

In April the lipstick I wore the most was my M.A.C lipstick in the shade Angel. I love the moisture it has and it is a light Spring colour. I love to wear this lipstick when I do a dark smokey eye. The only thing I dislike about this lipstick is that I noticed it wastes quite quickly, I bought this on Valentines Day and It is almost gone. I have used it a lot but compared to other lipsticks I own that I've used even more it has worn down a lot in comparison to the L'oreal Collection Exclusive by Colour Riche.

 Kardashian Beauty Kourtney's Kardazzle Complete Face Palette

This has to be my Favourite out of all on my favourites for the month of April.

I bought this palette a couple of weeks ago and I use it everyday I just love the colours.

The palette comes with 8 Metallic eye shadows and a mirror on the top compartment. I usually wear nude but I decided to get some nice colours for the summer so I chose Kourtneys palette over Kim's which was a nude palette.  Like everything else there is always a downside, I found that the colours were not as pigmented as I thought they would be so you need to add a few layers, but other than that I love them.

  

On the bottom compartment that slides out there is two blushes and a highlight powder. The blushes are sparkly, which is new for me because I usually go for a more matte blush but again I like to try new things.

The highlighter is my favourite part of the palette to be honest, it is really good and doesn't cake. I was using the Seventeen highlighter until I got this, I love the powder highlighter because it feels lighter on my face than the liquid.

This palette cost me €19.99 which I thought was quite reasonable at the time, but when I took the palette out I was quite disappointed with the case, when you slide out the bottom compartment it is quite loose and it feels like it is just going to fall off. Other than the case I am delighted with this product and I will continue to use it over the summer :)

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

My next favourite of the month is the Baby skin instant pore eraser by maybelline. Iv tried so many primers and I have to say this is one of the best I've tried! It really does make your pores disappear, and it makes my make up look so smooth and flawless, and for €11.49 it is worth it! Although the bottle is quite small at 22ml, a little goes a long way. I don't use this everyday because I want to make it last so I still use my Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur Smoothing Perfecting Primer. For any one looking for a primer I definitely suggest both of these! Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur Smoothing Perfecting Primer costs €20.00 which is more expensive but it is fantastic!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Fruity & Cheeky Cherry

This dry shampoo has been my best friend for the past month! I usually wash my hair every second day, but this past month Iv been so busy and have been doing college work  late every night so it was hard to actually pamper myself so I only got to wash my hair every 3 - 4 days (wish I had a shower) and this product really became my best friend! I love cherry flavor anything so of course I chose the cherry scent, and it smells lovely! Dry shampoo is a Savior!

Fuschia Concealer Palette

I bought this palette a long time ago for €5.00 in a Fuschia sale normally it would have been around €20.00. I bought it for the under eye and blemish concealer.

As you can see Iv used a lot of the green and pink concealer, I stopped using this palette for a while because I bought a M.A.C concealer. The reason I started using it again was because of the dark brown colours, I watched videos on YouTube on how to contour you face and I noticed in a lot of the videos people used a dark foundation or powder. I checked everywhere for a contour set and I couldn't find one, unfortunately my town is quite small and doesn't stock a lot of the good make up brands. But then one day I remembered I had this palette, so I tried out the dark shades for contouring and it worked so well! YAY! 

 E45 Lotion for Very Dry Skin

The past month I've had very dry skin, I think it might of been the change in the weather because the past month has been so sunny and warm which I think dried out my skin, so I went into boots and bought this E45 Lotion for very dry skin and I used it on my face and my dry skin on my hands and arms. I have to same it is amazing! it made my skin so soft and it is so refreshing!, I will definitely be using this over the summer. I got this Lotion in Boots on special for €3.99.

 This month Devious Maids started its 2nd season and I was so excited! I loved the first season and the second season has not disappointed! I just LOVE this show! Its full of drama, mystery, romance and comedy, If you liked Desperate House Wives you will definitely love this show. It is definitely worth the watch!

My favourite song for this month has to be Lorde - Team, Id say I have listened to this song over 100 times! I think she is an amazing artist! cant wait for some more songs by her!

Un-favourites

 NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder

I bought this eyebrow kit a few weeks ago and I was so excited to get it, and when I tried it I was so disappointed! It looked so bad on my eyebrows it definitely did cake but more under the brow and you could see that they were filled in. I bought the dark brown colour because my eyebrows are dark but even the darkest colour was too bright. I will definitely not buy this again it was a waste of money. I am currently using Rimmel London Glam Eyes HD 022Brixton Brown Palette to fill in my brows and it works much better for me than the NYX kit.  This was the first NYX product along with a primer which isn't all that great either, so far I am not impressed with NYX, maybe I just picked two bad products but I'm not pushed to buy another product.
