Road to Recovery Day 2: Long walks and Old memories

After finishing my blog post from day 1, I received an email from college about student contrition fees and lets just say my anxiety came back fighting, I guess I'm just so fecking frustrated with college and I just want to be done with it!

I really let it get to me. So I went to bed and watched TV, with some rice cakes and organic peanut butter.

Well I had a better start to day 2, I woke up nice and early, had a Lovely breakfast and binged watched Friends, that show never gets old!

Later I put on my work-out gear and went for a nice walk with my sister. We walked to her college, because she had to get forms signed. After leaving the college we decided to take the long way home because the weather was amazing. We stopped in the shop on the way back and bought a Calippo ice pop, child hood in a tube!

Walking home we talked about all the great memories we had as kids, going out for Sunday drives with our parents and getting 99's (ice cream cones) on the way home. We also laughed about that fact that 99s used to be 99p and now they are almost €2.50!

When I got home I chilled in the garden for a while, talking to my friend Emma on Facebook.

I later met Emma in town and we went for a coffee, although I said I was going on a diet, I had a little cheat day and got a caramel cake.

We sat and had a nice long chat, and then decided to go have a look in the local charity shops. Some times we find great little bargain like the 80's Ray bans I found for €1. But because we live in a small town these bargains are rare, most of the stuff are just old season Primark clothes.

I got a call off my dad asking me to collect him from the hospital (nothing serious just had a small procedure) as the nurse wouldn't let me out until someone collect him, because of the local anaesthetic.
Both me and Emma walked up to the hospital, which is about 30 minute walk from town, but the weather was nice so we didn't mind.

When I got home, I just chilled for the evening and looked back on the day.
I walked for almost 2 hours that day so I felt pretty good. By getting up early and doing things, I felt like I was getting more out of my day!

Going for the walk with my sister was great fun, talking about our childhood memories, I feel like looking back on fond memories is definitely a mood booster and it brings the happiness from the past into the present.

So what I learned from today is to get up early and do some exercise it really does make a difference.

Thank you for reading.

Buckle Up

Today's blog post is 4 complete outfit plans, which are all based around this double buckle belt. I recently bought it from my local Topshop store. (unfortunately it is not available on the website, but I will link similar styles that are still available)

The belt is a double buckle which opens on both sides. The hardware is silver with etched detail to give it that old western look.

The belt band is made from 100% Polyurethane.

The belt is designed to be worn around the waist, so it would be best suited with high waist jeans or over a loose dress.

One thing I would like to point out, due to the double buckle this belt won't fit into most belt loops on pants, therefore it would have to be worn over the loops.

The cost of this belt is €26.

The 4 outfits are styled based on how I would personally wear the belt.

Outfit 1

Outfit #1 is pretty casual. Although it is summer, I live in Ireland and the weather isn't always great so this outfit would be perfect for those not so great days.
I paired the Topshop Joni jeans with this old season Pull & Bear Kiss vest. I would tuck the top into the waistband, then I would put the belt around the band of the jeans.
I would roll up the hem just a little so the cuff would be grazing the top of the ankle.
To finish the outfit I would wear the low rise classic all star converse and a simple backpack, preferably one with silver hardware.

Outfit 2

Outfit #2 is a semi formal look. Personally I think it would be a lovely outfit for going to a family/friends BBQ.
I chose this Topshop belted shirt dress and paired it with laced up sandals from River Island.
The shirt dress would work really nice with the belt as it was designed to be tied at the waist. Although this shirt has a belt it can be removed and replaced with the buckle belt.
To finish off the outfit I chose a simple small cross body bag and a pair of cat eye sunglasses for River Island (summer '15 collection).

Outfit 3

Outfit #3 is another casual look. This time I paired the belt with a khaki asymmetric slip dress from River Island.
I wanted to keep this outfit simple so I paired it with a pair of military style boots and a black backpack.
This outfit could also be worn as a formal outfit.
Add a pair of heels and a clutch bag and you are good to go!

Outfit 4

Outfit #4 is another casual look. For the past few weeks I've been loving simple shift denim dresses, so for this outfit I chose a over knee length dress in a medium wash denim.
I paired the dress with ankle length fringe trimmed boots from River Island.
To complete the outfit I picked another backpack, and a pair of round framed sunglasses.
I think this outfit would be lovely for a day out in town, whether it be shopping or chilling in the park with an iced coffee.
